現在はもはや意味不明な存在になりつつある（＊）CDモドキことCCCD、ワーナーミュージックジャパンも生産終了することをアナウンスしたとのこと。業界で最初に採用したエイベックス・トラックス、そしてソニーミュージックは既に採用を中止している。これで現在CCCDを出しているメジャーレーベルは東芝EMIのみという事に。
僕としては東芝EMIのCCCDが続くのが一番痛い。カサンドラ・ウィルソンやノラ・ジョーンズのような良い音楽までCCCDで出すっていうのはどういう了見なんだ？と思わず毒づきたくなる。もちろん東芝EMI製の全てがCCCDという訳では無く、中には輸入盤がCCCDで東芝EMIが出す国内盤がCD-DAという事もあったりするからヤヤこしい。例えばマルコス・ヴァーリやジョアン・ドナートの再発盤などがそうだった。ブラジル盤やヨーロッパ盤にはまだまだCCCDがあるんで買うときには注意しないといけない。
＊：CCCDはもともとPCによるコピー防止のために採用された技術。だけど既に多くの人が知っているようにドライブによっては簡単にiTunesなどに取込めてしまうため有用性にかなり疑問があること。一方で通常のCDプレーヤーで互換性に問題が起きたり、カーステやDVDプレーヤーで読めなかったりする場合もあるなど、CCCDはかなり矛盾や問題のある技術…しかも互換性の問題による返品が認められないため、リスクは一方的に購入した者が負うということになる。
